We won the Grand Final of #VP2022

Sponsored by TATA Group and powered by NACUE, the TATA Varsity Pitch competition put together the best entrepreneurs in the UK to compete for a chance to win a £15K grant, exposure and of course, the winning title.

After a lengthy selection process requiring 5 months and countless interviews to filter more than 200 candidates, 7 outstanding entrepreneurs got invited to the Grand Final.

Very valuable support was received on this journey from partners such TATA and The D Group.

The BIG day was set for the 16th of November 2022, where all the founders of these 7 worth-winning startups met at the Royal Overseas League building in London to present their businesses in front of a curated judging panel and a hand-picked audience of successful entrepreneurs, investors, bankers and media outlets representatives.

One by one, startup after startup took over the stage:

- Ethosa

- Reality (The future of footwear)

- RouteKonnect

- Fibe

- BoxxDocks

- Himayat

and yours truly:

After a 3 minute long presentation and a 5 minute long Q&A by the experienced panel of judges the competition was soon over.

We received the visit of last year's champion and good friend of ours, Nav - the Founder of the WorldWide Social Impact Startup, The WASHING MACHINE PROJECT -, who shared his journey over the past 12 months and how the support from this competition helped him provide more than 3,000 hand-cranked washing machines to people in need across the world.

The time of truth arrived not long after.

The judges came back on stage to deliver the thank you message and announce the winner, what a sensation when the name that raised through the speakers was:

DRILL SURGERIES

Thrilled and grateful, our founder Moises made his way next to Judge Tim Jones - Executive Director of Tata Limited - to receive the award and was welcomed with the main reason why we got to be the winners:

“In business you can have revenue-generation business cases and cost-reduction business cases … this is a huge cost-reduction business case,” Jones said after presenting the award. He explained that the judges were impressed by “the amount of wasted time in highly valuable real estate, like operating theaters, that can be got at by what [Drill Surgeries] are doing.”
